この間の英語でしゃべらナイトのインタビューは、私の好きな歌手の1人であるビリー・ジョエル（Billy Joel）。
英語は非常に聞き取りやすく簡単に理解できた！
いいこと言うなぁと感心。真の成功者はやっぱり芯がある。何の仕事でもそうだと思うけど、成功するにはしっかりした土台が必要。

I never wanted to be, you know, as famous as I am now.
I wanted to be good at what I did.
I wanted to be a good musician.

(成功したい日本人アーティストへのアドバイス)
I would say start small and just play in places where your music has a good atmosphere.
Don't try to make big moves, don't worry about having a big successful recording.
Just work in the place where you belong.
If you get really, really good, you will get a following here.
You can dream big. Don't try to become a star. It's not about being a star, it's about being good. If you're good, you'll be OK.

この他に番組では、
「NYのどこが魅力か？」という質問に対してNYに住んでいる日本人女性は、
They're not nosy.　「首を突っ込んでこない」　と答えていた。
（nosy　おせっかいな、他人のことに首を突っ込む）

昔はNYにはあまり興味がなかったけど、やっぱりNYに一度は行ってみたいと最近思う。
NYどころか未だアメリカに一度も行ったことないんだった...
