I follow a recipe but not textually　( literally, to the letter )　文字通りに、一字一句まで

If I depend exclusively on the recipe, I will not do it so well.　全く～のみ、only

home economics　家政学
utensil　調理器具
a pinch of salt　ひとつまみの塩
index finger　人差し指

Driving home after you have been drinking is a recipe for disaster.　災いのもと

Please let me work on this project by myself.
Too many cooks spoil the broth.
料理人が多いとｽｰﾌﾟがﾀﾞﾒになる（船頭多くして船山に上る）

I borrowed dad's car without asking permission and I crashed it.
My goose is cooked.　困ったことになった(I'm in deep in trouble.)
