2 more people found to have contracted dengue fever in Japan

Two more people were said to have contracted dengue fever in Japan on Thursday, a day after the government said it had confirmed the first local infection of the disease in nearly 70 years.

A man in Tokyo and a woman in Saitama Prefecture, both in their 20s, and the first patient -- a teenage girl from Saitama who is in a stable condition -- go to the same school in Tokyo and are believed to have been infected after being bitten by mosquitoes in Yoyogi Park, a major park in central Tokyo.

The Tokyo metropolitan government is trying to eradicate mosquitoes in the park.

デング熱、日本で新たに２人の感染を確認
厚生労働省が約７０年ぶりに国内でのデング熱の感染を確認した翌日に、新たに２人が感染がわかった。

２人は東京在住の男性と埼玉在住の女性でいずれも２０代。最初の患者は埼玉在住の１０代女性で、体調は安定している。３人は同じ学校に通っており、都心の大きな公園「代々木公園」で蚊に刺されて感染したとみられている。

東京は、公園内の蚊の駆除を実施する。
