ほぼ毎日　英語学習日記　〜 英語holic 〜

10月でイングリッシュタウンを始めて丸3年になる。会話クラスの学習履歴でざっと調べたところ、2003年10月〜2006年9月の間に会話クラスへ約900回参加している。平均すると月25回参加していることになる。
いろいろと文句はあるけど、ここまで続くのは、楽しんでいるからだと思う。

未だまだ流暢に話せるレベルには到達しないけど、3年前の始めた当初よりはだいぶ上達した。
アウトプットの場がETだけなので、なかなか目標するレベルまでは到達しないけど、継続していればそれなりのレベルになると思うのでしばらくはこの調子でETを継続していきます。

ここ数日ETの接続状態があまりよくない。今日も先生が途中で消えることが何回もあり安定していなかった。その間、日本人の生徒とチャットをして結構楽しめた。30代位の男性で、NOVAに10年通って、最近ETを始めたと言っていた。10年やっているだけあって、かなり流暢な英語を話していた。

数日前からETの会話クラスのソフトが新しくなった。
まだ少しバグがあるようだけど、大きなトラブルは起こっていないようでよかった。

先週の英語でしゃべらナイトの録画をみると、Daniel Powter（ダニエル・パウター）がでていた。ダニエル・パウターのBad Dayは好きな曲なのでiPodでよく聴いている。

インタビューの中で、「ひどい難読症で楽譜が読めなかった」と言っていた。

10月のTOEICに申し込んだ。
今年の英語学習における目標はTOEIC860点（2006年目標）。
勉強というよりは趣味の学習程度でしかないけど、語彙力は着実に増えていると思うので、なんとか目標達成できるよう頑張りたい。

はじめてみるトピックだったので期待して参加したけど、結果はいまいち。トピックというよりは先生がダメだった。「皮肉っぽく言ってみる」という質問に、何人かの生徒に対して、「もっと強弱をつけて言うように...」としつこく繰り返しやらせてなかなか次へ進まなかった。
こういうリアクションをするのが苦手な人はいるもので、この類の人は母国語でも苦手なはず。これは英語の問題ではないので、こういうことに時間をかけるのは時間の無駄。
どうでもいいことを指摘する割には、文法や発音の間違いは何も指摘しないのだから呆れてしまう。

今日は久々にS先生のクラスに入ることができた。もう1年以上みかけていなかったので辞めたのかと思っていたけどまだいたのだ。お気に入りteacherの一人なので人数はやや多かったけどレッスンを最後まで受けた。
知らない言い回しなど教えてくれてレッスン自体はまあまあよかったけど、日本人生徒で会話を独占する人がいたので、会話のチャンスはあまりなかった。

Desperate Housewives（デスパレートな妻たち）のシーズン2が10月からNHKで放送される。シーズン1は結構面白かったのでシーズン2も楽しみ。
このほかに秋からNHKで始まる海外ドラマに「ドクター・フー」というのがある。イギリスで人気のようなのでとりあえず初回は見てみようと思う。

今見ている海外ドラマで好きなのはLOSTとHOUSE。英語は比較的早口でわかりにくいので、日本語字幕に頼らないとかなり難しい。
このレベルの英語が字幕なしで理解できるようになるにはまだまだかかりそうだ。

10月にTOEICを受ける予定（まだ申し込みしていないけど）なので、TOEIC関連のことを少しやろうと思う。
